FACES IN THE CROWD – Darren Sweet (Master Technician) and his 31 years at Littleton Chevrolet

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS FELLA…This is Darren Sweet from Jefferson, NH and we are celebrating him and his accomplishments. The month of August marks his 31st year, YES, 31st year with Littleton Chevrolet as a auto technician. Not just any technician…A MASTER TECHNICIAN!!!!!!! You are probably asking yourself, what the heck is a Master Technician? Well here is what Darren has had to do to advance his knowledge and education to obtain this exemplary status – you have to master and pass the follow GM technical courses…

-Automatic Transmission

-Manual Drivetrain and axle

-Engine Repair

-Steering and suspension

-Brakes

-Electrical/Electronics

-Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

-Engine Performance

He carries quite an impressive resume as you an see when he shows up to work everyday. He has a large following of service customers that reach out to him and will only allow Darren to work on their vehicles.  His passion is getting the job/task done right the first time, which he excels in but really loves being able to breakdown and diagnose a transmission issue and put it back together in no time. Not an easy task for anyone unless you are Darren Sweet.

Darren got his start in the business in 1984 at the age of 17 years old (not even out of high school yet) in Gloucester, Mass at a Chyrsler dealership. In 1989, he moved to Jefferson and started work for Phil Cross and Crosstown Motors until 1992. That is when he began his illustrious career at Littleton Chevrolet working on honing the skills of his profession. Rich Hopp, Service Manager at Littleton Chevrolet commented… “Darren is one hard working employee that comes to work to work and will do anything to help out one of his fellow employees or the company. He is always there to answer a questions or assist in anyway.”

Darren, a devoted family man, is proud of his wife, Anne and their two children, Robin and Josh. In his spare time he loves to fish, kayak, woodwork and be in the arms of the NH outdoors.
