LITTLETON CHEVROLET’S BLOG – 🏈 The Tailgate MVP: 5 Best Features on the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado for Football Season
The crisp air, the smell of charcoal, and the roar of the crowd—it can only mean one thing: football season is here! And no champion tailgating crew is complete without the ultimate setup. Enter the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado, a truck built not just for the worksite, but for dominating the parking lot pre-game.
With its combination of innovative utility and powerful tech, the Silverado transforms your truck into the perfect game-day command center. Here are the 5 best features on the 2026 Silverado that make it the undisputed MVP for your next football tailgate.
1. The Multi-Flex Tailgate: Your All-in-One Tailgating Bar and Prep Station
This is a game-changer. The available Multi-Flex Tailgate has six distinct functions that are perfectly suited for tailgating life.
- The Full-Width Step: Easily the most valuable feature. It folds down to give you a strong, stable step (rated up to 375 lbs.) right into the bed. No more awkward climbs over the bumper—just walk in to grab the cooler or adjust the TV.
- The Inner Gate with Work Surface: Drop this down to create a perfect, level table for chopping veggies, setting up a laptop for streaming pre-game analysis, or organizing drinks. It’s a mobile countertop right where you need it.
- The Primary Gate Load Stop: If you’re hauling a bulky, oddly-shaped grill or a stack of folding chairs, this feature prevents them from sliding out while in motion.
2. Best-in-Class Durabed with Available 120V Outlet
When it comes to cargo, volume is key. The Silverado’s Durabed offers the best-in-class standard cargo bed volume (89.1 cu. ft.), meaning you can bring more coolers, more chairs, and more gear than the competition.
The real secret weapon, however, is the available 120-volt power outlet located right in the bed. Forget long extension cords or noisy generators! This outlet can power your:
- Electric Smoker or Grill
- Blender for Game-Day Drinks
- Floodlights for when the party goes into the evening
3. Google Built-in Infotainment System
The party doesn’t stop when you’re in the cab. The available 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment touch-screen comes with Google built-in. Why is this a tailgating must-have?
- Instant Updates: Use Google Assistant via voice commands to check the latest game scores or weather forecast without taking your hands off the wheel.
- Best Route Planning: Google Maps can help you navigate crowded stadium traffic and find the best (and possibly secret) parking spots.
- Game-Day Playlist: Seamlessly connect your phone with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ to blast your pump-up jams through the Silverado’s premium sound system.
4. CornerStep Rear Bumper and BedSteps
Quick access is crucial when you need to grab a forgotten bottle opener or a last-minute bag of chips. The Silverado features large CornerStep rear bumpers and available integrated BedSteps.
These simple, robust steps are large enough for a work boot and make it incredibly easy to step up to the side of the bed to access gear without climbing over the tailgate. Every second saved is a second spent cheering on your team!
5. Advanced Trailering Technology (For the Towing Tailgaters)
If your tailgate setup includes a heavy-duty smoker trailer, a portable bar, or even a travel trailer for an overnight weekend, the Silverado is unmatched. Its available Advanced Trailering System offers up to 14 different camera views.
This technology makes hitching up simple and backing into a tight stadium spot stress-free. The transparent trailer view helps with lane changes, and the in-vehicle app lets you create custom trailer profiles and run pre-departure checklists. Towing your massive setup has never been easier or safer!
The Bottom Line:
The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado is more than just a truck; it’s a foundation for unforgettable experiences. With best-in-class cargo space, a revolutionary tailgate, and the power to run your entire party, it’s the only teammate you’ll need to make your next football tailgate legendary.

LITTLETON CHEVROLET COMMUNITY BLOG – Soaring Through History: The Next Ascent for the Cannon Mountain Tramway
Littleton Chevrolet is so proud to support and partner with Cannon Mountain and its employees over the past 14 years that we thought with the retiring of the second-Generation Tramway, it would be appropriate to write a blog about its history and the impacts it has had in the North Country and beyond.
If you’ve ever visited the stunning Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire, you’ve likely experienced the iconic Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway. Its significance runs deeper than a scenic ride; it is a profound piece of American history and an enduring pillar of the North Country’s economy and identity.
Chapter One: The Original Lift (1938)
In 1938, amid a time of limited recreational infrastructure, the opening of the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway was nothing short of revolutionary. It was officially the first passenger aerial tramway in North America, instantly putting New Hampshire on the map as an innovative destination.
This massive engineering feat required stringing enormous cables up the steep, granite face of Cannon Mountain, providing an unprecedented five-minute vertical ascent. The original cars carried passengers safely to the 4,080-foot summit, opening up the mountainside to mass tourism, scientific study, and pioneering skiing.
Chapter Two: The Second Generation (1980 – 2025)
After over four decades of service, the first generation of the tramway was retired. In 1980, the second-generation tramway was installed, featuring larger, more modern cabins and upgraded machinery. This new system continued the legacy of its predecessor for another 45 years, ensuring reliable, year-round access to the summit for millions of visitors.
This long-serving second generation recently completed its final run on October 26, 2025, marking the end of a remarkable era and paving the way for the future.
A Crucial Lift for the North Country: The Enduring Benefits
The Tramway’s operational history, through both the first and second generations, cemented its status as a vital economic engine for the remote towns and villages of northern New Hampshire.
1. Tourism and Commerce
By introducing a modern, accessible means of travel, the tramway instantly opened the region up to mass tourism. It drew visitors from across the Northeast and beyond, providing a reliable stream of revenue that supported local hotels, restaurants, and shops, proving particularly stabilizing during challenging economic times.
2. Accessibility and Recreation
For visitors of all ages, the benefits were immediate and transformative:
- Effortless Access: It allowed families, the elderly, and those with physical limitations to easily reach the alpine summit for unparalleled, world-class views of Franconia Notch and the Presidential Range.
- Year-Round Destination: The tramway secured Cannon’s reputation as a key summer attraction, offering observation decks and unique high-altitude hiking, while also supporting the state’s premier winter sports industry.
Chapter Three: The Next Ascent (The Third Generation)
The closure of the second-generation tramway is not an ending, but a pause before an exciting beginning. Over the next two years, the mountain will undergo a massive, multi-million-dollar modernization effort to install the third generation tramway.
This new system will feature cutting-edge technology, greater capacity, and enhanced safety and efficiency, ensuring that the legacy of accessibility and economic benefit continues. The third generation is projected to be operational in or around 2027, ready to welcome the next generation of mountain adventurers.
An Enduring Symbol
The Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway—from its groundbreaking start in 1938 to the recent retirement of its second system—is more than just a lift; it is a symbol of regional pride and vision. As we look ahead to the launch of the third generation, we celebrate its enduring history and the promise of continued soaring adventures for the North Country and its visitors. Littleton Chevrolet Blog – The Comeback Kid: The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is Back and Better Than Ever!
The Comeback Kid: The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is Back and Better Than Ever!
Bolt fans, rejoice! The whispers are over, the news is official, and the king of affordable, everyday EVs is making a glorious return. Say hello to the all-new 2027 Chevrolet Bolt!
When the original Bolt EV and EUV took their final bow in 2023, there was a hole left in the market—a need for a well-priced, long-range electric car for the masses. GM listened, and they didn’t just bring the Bolt back; they supercharged it with crucial technology, making it the most compelling version yet.
Here’s a deep dive into the wonderful improvements that have happened since its discontinuation:
1. Goodbye Charging Anxiety, Hello Speed! (NACS & 150 kW)
This is perhaps the biggest game-changer. The Achilles’ heel of the previous Bolt was its relatively slow DC fast charging. That is officially a thing of the past!
- Tripled Charging Speed: The new Bolt boasts a peak DC fast-charging rate of 150 kW+, which is more than 2.5 times faster than the outgoing model. This translates to going from 10% to 80% charge in a claimed 26 minutes—a massive leap for road-trip viability.
- Native NACS Port: The 2027 Bolt is the first Chevrolet to come standard with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This means you can plug in directly to the expansive and reliable Tesla Supercharger network without needing an adapter!
2. A Fresh and Modern Cockpit
While the exterior retains a familiar, popular crossover-like shape (similar to the previous Bolt EUV), the interior has been completely modernized, shaking off any lingering old-school tech.
- Larger Dual Screens: The dash is anchored by a new, large 11.3-inch-diagonal infotainment screen and an 11-inch-diagonal digital driver information screen, bringing it squarely into the modern EV era.
- Google Built-in: The infotainment system now features Google built-in, integrating Google Maps (with EV-specific routing), Google Assistant voice control, and access to entertainment apps directly on the screen.
- Refined Interior & Storage: Expect a cleaner look with an open console, an all-new passenger dash storage area, and a column shifter that frees up valuable center space.
3. Smarter Tech, Greater Efficiency
The new Bolt has benefited immensely from GM’s ongoing EV development, incorporating features previously reserved for higher-end vehicles.
- Available Super Cruise: For the first time, the Bolt offers the option of Super Cruise—GM’s advanced hands-free driver assistance system—making highway driving more relaxed than ever.
- Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) Capability: The new Bolt is now equipped with bi-directional charging (V2H), meaning that with the right equipment, your car can power your home during a blackout.
- LFP Battery and Efficiency: The battery chemistry has shifted to Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP), which is known for its durability, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to be charged to 100% every day without long-term degradation concerns. The range remains competitive with a GM-estimated 255 miles on a full charge.
The Best Part? The Price Tag!
The original Bolt’s superpower was its value, and the new model retains that mission. With a starting MSRP expected to be around $29,990, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is poised to once again be the most affordable long-range EV in America.
The Bolt is back by popular demand, demonstrating that the appetite for an accessible, no-compromise electric vehicle is stronger than ever. It’s the perfect commuter car, an easy road-trip partner, and a powerful statement that the EV revolution is truly for everyone.

Your Vehicle Needs Boots, Not Sneakers: Why Winter Tires are a Must-Have
As the leaves fall and the air turns crisp, many drivers start thinking about swapping out their summer or all-season tires. But is it really necessary? The simple answer is a resounding yes. Winter tires (often called snow tires) are arguably the most critical safety feature you can add to your vehicle when the temperature consistently drops.
It’s a common misconception that all-wheel drive (AWD) is enough to handle winter driving. While AWD helps you accelerate in snow, it does nothing to help you steer or stop. That’s where the specialized engineering of a dedicated winter tire comes into play.
Why Your Regular Tires Fail in the Cold
Your all-season or summer tires are designed with a rubber compound that begins to stiffen and lose elasticity when the temperature consistently falls below 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7∘ Celsius). When the rubber hardens, it loses its ability to grip the road, which drastically increases your stopping distance and reduces your control—even on dry pavement.
The Science Behind Winter Tire Superiority
Winter tires are purpose-built to conquer cold weather, snow, ice, and slush. They outperform all-season tires in three key areas:
1. Specialized Rubber Compound
The most crucial difference is the rubber. Winter tires use a unique compound, often containing a higher percentage of natural rubber and silica, that is engineered to remain soft and pliable well below freezing temperatures. This flexibility ensures the tire maintains optimal contact and grip on the road surface, which is essential for safe driving.
2. Aggressive Tread Design
Take a look at a winter tire and you’ll notice a dramatically different pattern.
- Deeper Tread Depth: This helps channel snow, slush, and water away from the tire’s contact patch, preventing buildup and maximizing grip.
- Wider Grooves: Designed to “bite” into the snow and provide a sturdy platform for traction.
- High-Density Siping: These are the thousands of tiny, razor-thin slits cut into the tread blocks. Sipes act as extra biting edges, gripping and interlocking with snow and ice on the road. Some advanced designs use 3D sipes that open up to grab snow and ice before closing to provide stability.
3. Shorter Braking Distances
This is the safety factor that could save you from an accident. On snow or ice, the difference in stopping power is staggering. A vehicle equipped with winter tires can stop significantly shorter than the exact same vehicle on all-season tires. That few extra feet of stopping distance is the difference between an emergency stop and a fender-bender.
Winter Tires vs. All-Season Tires vs. All-Weather Tires: What’s the Difference?
| Tire Type | Best For | Rubber Compound | Tread/Sipes | Key Takeaway |
| All-Season | Mild weather, year-round use in moderate climates (>45∘F) | Designed for a long tread life; hardens in cold temperatures. | Moderate tread depth and minimal sipes for light snow. | A compromise tire that sacrifices extreme performance for versatility. Not ideal for heavy snow or ice. |
| Winter (Snow) | Cold weather, snow, ice, and slush (Consistently <45∘F) | Stays soft and flexible in extreme cold for maximum grip. | Deep, aggressive grooves and high-density sipes (3PMSF symbol). | Essential for regions with harsh, snowy winters. Provides superior traction, braking, and control. |
| All-Weather | Year-round use in areas with mild to moderate winters. | Better cold-weather performance than All-Season, but not as soft as Winter tires. | More aggressive tread and siping than All-Season; often carry the 3PMSF symbol. | A good one-tire solution for drivers in light-snow regions who don’t want to swap tires twice a year. |
Export to Sheets
The Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) Symbol: This symbol, found on the sidewall of a tire, certifies that the tire has met specific performance requirements in snow testing. Dedicated winter tires and most all-weather tires carry this symbol, while standard all-season tires do not.
The Verdict: Your Safety is Worth the Investment
While the upfront cost of buying a second set of tires might seem high, consider it an investment in your safety. Not only do winter tires protect you, but they also significantly reduce the wear on your primary set of tires, effectively extending their life.
If you live in a region where temperatures consistently drop below 45∘F (7∘C), and you regularly encounter snow or ice, equipping your vehicle with a dedicated set of winter tires is the smartest decision you can make for safe winter travel. Drive with confidence this season—put the right tires on your vehicle. Interested in having our Littleton Chevrolet Service Team price out some new tires for you? Northern New Hampshire’s Ultimate Road Trips: A Guide from Littleton Chevrolet
When you live in the North Country, you know that a beautiful drive is never far away. The White Mountains are home to some of the most spectacular scenic byways in the country, offering a front-row seat to New Hampshire’s natural beauty. Whether you’re a lifelong local or a visitor looking to experience the magic of our region, a great vehicle and a full tank of gas are all you need to create unforgettable memories.
At Littleton Chevrolet, we believe your car is more than just a mode of transportation—it’s your partner in adventure. So, hop in your new Silverado or the agile Equinox, and let’s explore three of the best road trips Northern New Hampshire has to offer.
The Kancamagus Highway: A National Scenic Byway
The “Kanc,” as locals call it, is a 34.5-mile stretch of Route 112 that winds its way through the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. This is the quintessential New England road trip, especially during the fall.
What you’ll see: The Kancamagus Highway offers a non-stop parade of natural wonders. You’ll drive alongside the Swift River and ascend to the Kancamagus Pass, a stunning high point. Be sure to stop at the numerous scenic overlooks, like the Pemigewasset Overlook and the C.L. Graham Wangan Overlook, for panoramic views of the mountains. You can also take short, easy hikes to see waterfalls like Sabbaday Falls and the Lower Falls. Don’t forget your camera!
Best viewing time: While the Kanc is beautiful year-round, its true magic unfolds during the fall foliage season. Peak color typically occurs from late September to the first two weeks of October. The exact timing depends on the weather, so check local foliage reports before you go.
Franconia Notch: Where Nature’s Wonders Await
Just a stone’s throw from our dealership, Franconia Notch State Park is a mountain pass that is an adventure in itself. The eight-mile parkway (I-93) is the perfect gateway to some of New Hampshire’s most iconic attractions.
What you’ll see: Start your journey with a visit to the Flume Gorge, a stunning two-mile loop that takes you through a natural granite gorge with waterfalls and covered bridges. Then, take the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway to the 4,080-foot summit for a breathtaking, 360-degree view of the mountains. The last day they will be in operation will be Sunday, October 26th. You can also relax at Echo Lake Beach, explore The Basin, and learn about the famous “Old Man of the Mountain” at the Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund site.
Best viewing time: Fall foliage is spectacular here, peaking in the same late September to early October window as the Kancamagus Highway. The vibrant colors against the backdrop of the rugged Franconia and Kinsman mountain ranges are a sight you won’t soon forget.
Pinkham Notch: The Presidential Range’s Playground
If you want a truly rugged and awe-inspiring experience, the drive through Pinkham Notch on Route 16 is for you. This road takes you through the eastern side of the Presidential Range, home to Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast.
What you’ll see: This is a fantastic drive for those who love mountain grandeur. You’ll be dwarfed by towering peaks like Mount Washington, Mount Madison, and Mount Adams. The drive offers stunning views of these mountains and is the trailhead for many famous hikes. You can also visit attractions like the Glen Ellis Falls, a 64-foot waterfall easily accessible via a short walk, and the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Visitor Center.
Best viewing time: Similar to the other notches, the most vibrant colors in Pinkham Notch arrive in early to mid-October, with hints of color appearing at higher elevations in late September. The view of the Presidential Range bursting with fall color is truly a bucket-list experience.

LITTLETON CHEVROLET’S TEACHER GIVEAWAY – We’re thrilled to announce another winner of our Teacher Giveaway – Rachel Anne Page. ![]()
Please join us in giving a huge congratulations to Rachel Anne Page, a dedicated 5th-grade teacher at Waits River Valley School in East Corinth, Vermont! Rachel won one of the four $500 Amazon gift card to help her continue making a difference in the classroom and with her students.
Rachel’s specialty is Math and Science, and her passion for teaching started young. She got her first taste of the profession at Woodsville High School through a teacher mentor program, where she got to experience elementary school teaching firsthand. She fell in love with it and knew she’d found her calling.
Her journey led her to Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education and Life Sciences, graduating in 2015 and being able to teach kindergarten through the 6th grade. With stops in Warren and Haverhill before finding her home at Waits River Valley School, where she’s now in her fifth year.
We were so inspired by our conversation with Rachel about her career. When we asked what she loves most, she said, “I love how supportive my fellow teachers are along with administration. The relationships and connections that I have been able to make through the years have been invaluable.” She also shared a powerful belief that learning can’t happen unless students feel safe and loved, a philosophy she lives by every day.
Rachel also spoke candidly about the challenges she’s faced, particularly since the pandemic. “When Covid happened, it was just an unimaginable shift,” she shared. “Now with them being on their screens all the time, their connections went away… It has been hard to work through that and get them back on track. I feel that we are almost on the other side where we can have good conversations. Reteaching them to work with each other along with giving them the skills in team building.” Her dedication to helping students reconnect with each other is a true testament to her commitment.
As for what she’ll buy with her gift card? Rachel is excited to stock up on S.T.E.M. supplies (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). “The kids love to explore,” she told us, mentioning how they enjoy projects like creating sustainable life on another planet or researching ecosystems. It’s clear she’s passionate about keeping her students engaged and curious.
Thank you, Rachel, for your incredible commitment to your students, your school, and your community. We stand with you and all the amazing teachers out there who are shaping the next generation. We hope you have another fabulous year of teaching!
